Mailings from the STC Office

  • In July, the Society office e-mailed a letter to chapter presidents and competition managers alerting them to the updated guidelines and entry forms for online communication, technical art, and technical publications competitions.
  • In July, the Society office mailed chapter rosters to chapter presidents and sent rebate information to presidents and treasurers.
  • In August, the STC office e-mailed information on the STC newsletter competition to all chapter presidents, chapter newsletter editors, SIG managers, SIG newsletter editors, and student chapter advisors.
  • In September, chapter presidents and SIG managers will receive a letter reminding them about the associate fellow nomination and evaluation procedures. To receive a list of all eligible candidates in your chapter or SIG, please contact Peg at the Society office. Nominations are due in the Society office by October 21, 2006.

Community Leaders’ Monthly Reminders: September

  • Begin your chapter competitions (art, online, and/or publications) if you have not already done so. If you are planning to hold a competition and need information, please contact Eileen Lopez at (703) 522-4114, ext. 207, or eileen@stc.org. Remember that the deadline for sending winning entries to the international competitions is January 16, 2007.
  • Confirm that your treasurer has filed your chapter’s annual financial report. The deadline for filing these financial reports is September 30, 2006. (Student chapter financial reports were due May 31.) If you need information, please contact Peg Cottrell at (703) 522-4114, ext. 204, or peg@stc.org.
  • Initiate a membership drive. Ideas for attracting members are discussed in this issue of Tieline and in previously published articles accessible through the Tieline knowledge base.
