Help Promote STC's 54th Annual Conference

This issue of Tieline contains helpful information for those who plan to attend STC’s 54th Annual Conference, May 13–16, 2007, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The STC office encourages community webmasters and newsletter editors to promote the event by publicizing conference information in their newsletters and on community Web sites.

Conference rates will be announced soon. Keep an eye on www.stc.org for details.

Conference hotel rates and amenities will also be announced soon. All conference events and technical sessions will be held in the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Information on Minneapolis tourist attractions appears in Intercom’s Society Pages. STC newsletter editors are encouraged to reprint these articles. If you prefer to run original copy about Minneapolis, begin your research at www.minneapolis.org.

Local interest articles, such as profiles of chapter members who will be speaking at the conference, can help your membership become more familiar with the conference. SIG newsletter editors and webmasters may wish to publicize conference sessions that would interest SIG members. The names of conference sessions will appear in the Preliminary Program, to be mailed in February.

STC’s annual conference is the Society’s largest single fundraising event. Proceeds from the conference help the Society continue to provide popular membership benefits such as Intercom, Technical Communication, and the annual STC Salary Survey. Promoting the conference at the chapter and SIG levels can help ensure its success.
