A SIG for Europe
The Europe SIG, approved by STC’s Board of Directors in June 2007, will focus on Europe-specific technical communication issues such as the challenges and opportunities of working in and for a multilingual and multicountry marketplace. The SIG aims to create an enduring framework for trans-European initiatives both within STC—such as in conferences and Europe-wide competitions—and in collaboration with other existing European technical communication organizations, such as TCeurope.
For further information about the Europe SIG, contact the interim comanagers, Jennifer O Neill, France Chapter STC, and David Farbey, U.K. Chapter STC. If you are interested in joining the SIG, please contact Jennifer and David; members will be able to sign up for the SIG during the upcoming renewal process.
Chapter Name Change
During the July 2007 Board of Directors teleconference meeting, the Board approved the Metrolina chapter's request to change its name as a result of a recent recharter. The chapter’s new name is the Charlotte Regional Chapter STC.
