Mailings from the STC Office
- In July, the Society office e-mailed a letter to chapter presidents and competition managers alerting them to updated guidelines and entry forms for the Online Communication, Technical Art, and Technical Publications Competitions.
- In July, the Society office mailed chapter rosters to chapter presidents and sent information about community funding to presidents and treasurers.
- In August, chapter presidents and SIG managers received a letter reminding them about associate fellow nomination and evaluation procedures, as well as a list of all eligible candidates in their chapter or SIG. Nominations are due in the Society office by October 7, 2007.
- In August, the STC office e-mailed information on the STC newsletter competition to all chapter presidents, chapter newsletter editors, SIG managers, SIG newsletter editors, and student chapter advisors.
Reminders to Chapter Leaders—September
- Begin your chapter competitions (art, online, and/or publications) if you have not already done so. If you are planning to hold a competition and need information, please contact Lloyd Tucker, Director of Membership and Education, at +1 (571) 366-1904 or lloyd@stc.org. Remember that the deadline for sending winning entries to the international competitions is January 18, 2008.
- If your chapter plans to host a high school competition, return the chapter sponsoring form for the International Student Technical Communication Competition (ISTCC) to the STC office by September 17, 2007.
- Confirm that your treasurer has filed your chapter’s annual financial report (available on the STC Web site). The deadline for filing these financial reports is September 30, 2007. (Student chapter financial reports were due June 15.) If you need information, please contact Evelyn McCamey, Community Relations Manager, at +1 (571) 366-1919 or evelyn.mccamey@stc.org.
- Completed Associate Fellow and Fellow nomination packages are due to Lloyd Tucker, Director of Membership and Education, by October 7, 2007.
- Nominations for the Jay R. Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching Technical Communication are due to Carol Barnum, Manager of the Jay R. Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching Technical Communication Committee, by October 15, 2007.
- Nominations for the Ken Rainey Award for Excellence in Research are due to Hillary Hart, Manager of the Ken Rainey Award for Excellence in Research Committee, by November 1, 2007.
