In early November, membership drive packets will be sent to all chapter membership managers and student chapter advisors.
In mid-November, decision notification letters will be sent to those who submitted proposals for STC annual conference sessions and preconference workshops and tutorials.
In late November, dues renewal invoices will be mailed to members who have not renewed online.
In December, author kits will be sent to all presenters of papers, panel discussions, progressions, and workshops selected for inclusion in the Technical Communication Summit, STC’s 55th Annual Conference.
The Preliminary Program for the Technical Communication Summit, STC’s 55th Annual Conference, will be mailed in late February.
Nomination packets for the Jay R. Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching Technical Communication are due to Carol Barnum, Manager of the Jay R. Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching Technical Communication Committee, by November 15, 2007.
The deadline for submitting recommendations for the Distinguished Chapter Service Award (DCSA), Distinguished SIG Service Award (DSSA), and Distinguished Service Award for Students (DSAS) is November 30, 2007. Recommendations should be sent to Deborah Silvi, Distinguished Community Awards (DCA) Committee Chair, and will be collected and presented to the STC Board of Directors for approval at its January meeting.
The deadline to apply to be a judge for STC's Society-level Technical Publications, Technical Art, and Online Communication Competitions is December 1, 2007. Applications may be downloaded from the STC Web site.
Submit community status reports to the Community Status Reporting (CSR) team by January 2, 2008.
If your chapter is participating in the STC Newsletter Competition and has already sent in the completed entry form and the first issue (due October 15, 2007), subsequent issues must be postmarked by January 11, 2008.
The first 2008 meeting of STC’s Board of Directors will be held on January 11–12, 2008 in Arlington, Virginia.
The deadline for your chapter to send entries to the Society-level Technical Publications, Technical Art, and Online Communication Competitions is January 18, 2008.
Students must submit completed applications for STC scholarships (offered in the 2007–08 academic year) by February 15, 2008.
The deadline for your chapter to send entries to the STC Public Relations Competition is March 4, 2008.
Online membership renewal is now open on the STC Web site. Please ask your members to renew their memberships as soon as possible.
